In her ten years long career, Api Karim had only acted in one cinema. Six years ago, back in 2003 she acted in the movie "Bachelor" produced by Mustafa Sarwar Farooki, and her different character got her awards that year.

Even though she was swept away with the round of appreciation due to her performance in that movie, she wasn't seen in any other film after that. But after 2003, her era of no-film has finally come to an end again. Salauddin Labhlu's second movie Warish will be her second movie that she will be acting in.

This news was brought to us by Salauddin Lavlu himself. Famous for 'Molla Barir Bou', Salauddin Lavlu said, "It was decided long before who will be the ones acting in 'Warish'- only the actress was remaining. It is no question about why I chose Opi to act in this movie. There is nothing new to say about her acting abilities. I hope Api can bring about her best acting in my cinema. I took her in my film hoping just that."

The only thing left to see now is how Api is valued by her audience.

Emi is annoyed with rumors about marriage. Few days ago rumors emerged in the media that this international class ramp model secretly married her boy friend. She is really annoyed and furious with various questions from media about this matter. She said, I am the one who married but it is you guys who get the news before me!

You do not just give news but also talk about finding out wedding date, kazi office with marriage papers. I have a question instead, if you people know everything about my marriage then why do you ask ‘We heard you got married?’ this is the situation. I got really disappointed hearing these bizarre stories of yours.

What I am saying is, a girl like me will marry but whoever I marry I am not a girl to keep that a secret. In that sense I am not focus of media. And I have never done anything announcing to the world. I am in this media for almost 10 years.

I am trying to take our country’s identity and prove our talent in international market. So I did not like this much of raucous about marriage. That is why I got annoyed and stayed away from media for last few months. Where there is no value of my word why should I be there? This is my pain.

Does it mean you did not marry? Emi got annoyed again. She said, God I have been trying to make you understand this for all this time. Drop the marriage topic, talk about work. What are you doing now? Emi said, I am mainly doing one thing, ramp modeling. I have already done some international standard shows in Dhaka and outside.

What is the news about dramas-ads? I don’t have time and opportunity to do dramas. I don’t want to every drama. However I am worked in a drama after long time with Richi, Shojol, Tisha, Bindu. Director is Tutul. I cannot really remember the name of the drama. In this drama I played a character of a pop singer. I had fun working here.

And I haven’t done any ad after Nescafe. Nowadays movies are created everywhere, good movies; so what are you thinking about movies? Emi showed quite an interest in this question. She told with a bit of frustration, I have been talking with filmmakers for last few years, but no work is done. I really want to do movies.

However, I cannot dance in a movie. Now movies of international quality are made over here. That is why I think, I want to do something of that quality. I do not know whether I will get my desired opportunity. But I will be waiting.

Granddaughters of legendary screen diva Suchitra Sen, Riya and Raima Sen, will be seen sharing screen space together for the first time in Rituparno Ghosh's "Noukadubi."

Apparently, Rituparno had approached Riya and Raima for the film at the same time and both of them even received the script together. They were offered two very diverse roles and both of them had no qualms playing the characters. According to sources, Riya initially thought Raima's character had a lot more prominence and had much more scope and dimension to it as compared to hers.

But being a thorough professional and a doting sister, Riya chose to go ahead with the role she was offered, as it was extremely challenging. What's interesting about the entire episode is that both the actresses are playing roles very contrary to their public image. While Riya Sen will be seen in a complete de-glam avatar, Raima will be playing a sophisticated woman.

"Noukadubi" is an adaptation of a Rabindranath Tagore novel with the same title. The tale of mistaken identities revolves around a newly-married couple separated when their boat capsizes and a storm tosses them into the river. The groom wakes up to find himself and a young bride on the shore. He returns home with the girl only to learn later that she is someone else's wife.

Apart from Raima and Riya Sen, the film also stars Jisshu Sengupta, Priyanshu Chatterjee and Sharmila Tagore. Riya plays Kamala and Raima is Hemnalini. "Noukadubi" follows Anjan Dutt's failed attempt to cast the Sen sisters in "The Bong Connection"; Riya was later replaced by Peeya Rai Chowdhuri.

According to Raima, "Both Riya and I have long wanted to act in a film together. But we were not getting the right project. Rituda is the best person to pull off such a cast, as he can make his female characters seem very flesh-and-blood."

About the film, Rituparno said, "The idea of making a film on 'Noukadubi' germinated while we were shooting for 'Abohoman.' I would discuss with Titoda (Dipankar De) if there's any place for Bengali literature in popular cinema because there's a tendency to classify any literature-based film as an art film.

"I felt 'Noukadubi' has all the ingredients of a mainstream, rather popular, film. A couple is separated and there's a lot of melodrama. 'Noukadubi' won't have the complicated narrative of Chokher Bali." "I am setting the film in 1925. But it would be visually different from 'Chokher Bali.' Tagore seldom specifies the period in his stories but I'm bringing it a little forward.

"I decided against setting 'Noukadubi' in the contemporary period as I felt it won't remain the same story anymore. 'Noukadubi' has to be seen from the point of that period's conventional morality. Chastity plays a major role in the film. Morality is very important. It's a bit surprising coming from Tagore and that too after he had written 'Streer Patra' and 'Chokher Bali.' I want to question this idea," added the director.

It was the early 1990s. Three music lovers and friends -- Shuvashish, Rony and Jacob -- wanted to form a band. They were later joined by fellow music enthusiast Mamun. Thus the band 'Commence' launched its musical voyage.

Till 2002 the band was in full gear and had several concerts in Dhaka. After 2002, the band went on a hiatus as two of its members went overseas for higher studies. However, Shuvashish and Jacob -- vocalist and bass guitarist respectively -- didn't give up. They decided to continue with a new line-up. New members are: Lalon (lead guitar), Paris (drums) and Kayum (keyboard).

At present the band's debut album is in the pipeline. Songs expected to be featured in the new album include "Bashanto kokil" and "Koshto amar". The songs have been aired on several TV channels.

About the new album, Shuvashish said, "Basically, we like mellow rock. Most of the songs in the album follow this sub- genre."

Apart from the new album, the band is also involved in stage shows. Commence also performs as 'opening acts' for leading/seasoned bands.

"We want to offer the listeners a distinct, fresh sound," said Shuvashish. Shuvashish and his band mates often play and rehearse with renowned musicians of the country including Piaru Khan, Fuad Naser Babu and Labu Rahman.

Rumana With Purnima
Rumana is now completely safe. First day success of her solo acted movie ‘Biyebari’ has freed her from danger. Although success of her first commercial film ‘Ek Takar Bou’ established her journey as movie actress. But still since Shabnur was in that movie many were excited to see Rumana’s success as solo actress.

But Shahin-Shumon directed ‘Biyebari’ ended all anxieties and doubts. Tremendous success as a single heroine opposite to Shakib Khan established Rumana in film industry and also Shakib Khan now has more heroines. Audience really accepted a beautiful and sensible glamour girl Rumana opposite to Shakib Khan.

Irritated to see Apu with Shakib Khan repeatedly, for audience Rumana was a fresh rain in the time of arid weather. Rumana is really happy with this success. This shining star of small screen was really tensed. She invited her own films’ producers, directors and reporters to dinner and asked for their blessing.

Rumana’s wish is fulfilled. First day success of ‘Biyebari’ created a solid base under Rumana’s feet. Now it is her turn to stand strongly. The movies that Rumana is busy with at the moment are- F.I. Manik’s ‘Chirodin Ami Tomar’, P.A. Kajol’s ‘Shami Shtrir Wada’, Shahadat Hossain Liton’s ‘Preme Porechi’, Rakibul Alam Rakib’s ‘Premik Purush’ and Zakir Hossain Raju’s ‘Bhalobhashlei Ghor Badha Hoina’.

‘Shami Shtrir Wada’ will be released on 20th July. This movie with Shabnur and Shakib is already talked about.

Everybody knows that two regents of music Fahmida Nabi and Samina Chowdhury are sisters. After long time two sisters are going to work in same album.

Even though two sisters have been singing for three decades they do not have any duet album. Perhaps they did few duet songs until now. This time, fans will get these two widely renowned artists in one album.

Why after so long? Answering to this question Fahmida Nabi said, ‘maybe because no production company took any initiative for so long. So this time we two sisters are going to bring out album by ourselves. Besides I was abroad for many years, for this reason also we have not worked in any album together.’

It came to knowledge this album is financed by world music, an audio production company owned by Samina Chowdhury’s husband, Ejaj Khan Swapan. Samina Chowdury said, I have been thinking of making such album for some time. The main thing is that at last the dream will be fulfilled.

Tune and music direction is taken care by Prince Mahmud and Bappa Majumdar. There is no need to introduce either Prince or Bappa. By now both of them managed to create original trend in the country. That is why it will not be a mistake to call this album great in advance. In total there will be 12 songs. Among those 6 songs, 3 each in Samina’ and Fahmida’s voice, will be original. Rest of the songs will be popular songs sang by two sisters in different times.

These old songs will be made with new music arrangements, informed Samina. These songs broadcasted in BTV are ‘Amaar Shob Shukhe Bubu’, Tomari Naam Shuvro’, ‘Chikichita’ etc.

Daughters of talented artist Mahmudunnabi, Fahmida Nabi and Samina Chowdhury are two among the artists, who presently practice genuine singing. Not only that, both of them played leading roles in enriching Bangla music. Right now both of them are at the peak of popularity.

Fahmida Nabi informed that work on music tracks of this untitled album is ongoing. After the work of music track is done, voice recording will start. It is assumed that if the work is completed within specified time then in coming Ramadan Eid this album will be marketed under the banner of production company world music.

Movie star Purnima is acting as Laily and Apurbo as Mojnu in world popular love story and ancient romantic folk story ‘Laily Mojnu’.

Besides writing the screenplay Aranna Anwar will also make it. According to director, by now talks have been finalized with Purnima and Apurbo.

Both of them agreed. Now the work on screenplay is going on. Keeping in line with schedule of Apurbo and Purnima shooting should start from first week of coming August. Creator’s sources also informed, although previously two Bangla movies were made on Laily-Mojnu this is the first time it is being created in shape of a drama or telefilm.

However 7-8 years ago a drama was announced to be made with Kayes Chowdhury Joy and Kusum Sikder but it was never made. On the matter of Laily Mojnu Aranna Anwar says, it is a strange matter. Not a single TV drama had been made on Laily-Mojnu. Several dramas could have been made in different ways.

So I want to make this out of that thought. I will try to make Laily Mojnu with modern touch. The story will be same just presentation will be changed. You can say we want to gift Laily-Mojnu of this generation and this city through Purnima and Apurba. And it will be created in movie style. Hopefully TV viewers will enjoy it freshly.

About acting in Majfuj Aich Jacky produced Laily Mojnu Purnima said, if this character could have been done in movie then it would have been even better. But from what I can understand this telefilm will be created with shadow of movie. And Laily is such a character that there is nothing new to say about it.

It is such a romantic story that it will last for centuries, I am really happy to be a small part of a this kind of history making. And acting in role of Mojnu, Apurbo said, what can I say. It’s Mojnu after all. Who does not want to be Mojnu? And if that’s an opportunity comes to be real Mojnu then there is no doubt. Let me finish work first. Hopefully after that I will be known as Mojnu.

Mila is really talked about among new generation singers. Two songs ‘Rupobane Nache Komor Dulaiya’ and ‘Bapuram Shapure’ from her album ‘Chapter-2’ are superhit.

Recently she has become model for Britol Bisquit. She is really busy with audio, video and stage. She came back after America tour. Here is an interview with Mila.

There is buzz all around about your marriage, groom is music director Fuad. Is this true?

Various types of rumors are spread about me. Marriage rumor is latest one. Fuad bhai is my respected music director. I cannot think of anything else. Right now I am at a turning point of my career. I will think about marriage after five years. I want to say something clearly that I will not marry anyone from media. Even if I love someone it will not be anyone from media.

Recently you put 40 lakh price tag for your third album from a company. Is it reasonable?

This is music market. My album is a product. I earn bread by doing music business. I can bargain with any company. They will buy the album with 40 lakh. And there is a misconception here. Everybody is thinking that I asked 40 lakh only for audio album. Nobody is talking about companies which with audio albums earn 3-4 times on video albums; I asked 40 lakh for both audio and video album.

What is the name of the third album? Who is the music director? How is it going to be?

Name of my third album is ‘Re/define’. As usual this album is Fuad featuring Mila. This album is a bit different from previous albums. But my audience will get what they want.

How was second America tour?

This time I went to America to take part in Dhaliwood award show. I did not know that immigrant Bangladeshis there like my songs so much. I was extremely happy to see their excitement about me. This time in America I did something amazing. I shot few music videos from new album in different locations of America. That will please my fans.

Your first solo ‘Fele Asha’ and ‘Chapter-2’ second solo album’s few songs became hit after release of video album. How important is the role of music video behind an album’s success?

It is true that ‘Fele Asha’ album’s ‘ Mela’, ‘Chera Paal’ and ‘Chapter-2’ album’s ‘Rupbane Nache Komor Dulaiya’ and ‘Bapuram Shapure’ became superhit after the release of videos. These songs are just about listening but also about seeing something. All around the world now famous artists’ audio/video are release together. Video CDs are more important than video CDs; because if video is bought then fans can listen and see their favorite artist simultaneously.

You are rather discussed more in make up, get up, style or fashion more than music. What do you think?

Look, it is normal that an artist would have own style. In whole world artists are the icons. I have not started being stylish after becoming artist. I am like this since childhood. My parents have no son. That is why they used to dress me up like a boy. I always used to wear pants, t-shirts or keep short hair like boys. Since childhood there is less feminine side inside me.

On stage you dance while singing like Britney and Madonna. From Bangladesh perspective how suitable is it?

My stage performance is like my songs. My fans also like it. Or else my albums would not have been hit. The demand for my music videos is at peak because fans accepted my performance with my songs more. I experience some kind of different feel when I get up on stage. I forget all painful memories in life. I feel if I am put on stage while dying then I will live.

Is Fuad going to direct music in all your albums?

Apart from Fuad bhai I worked with Bappa Mazumdar, Balam, Fuad Ibne Rabbi. With Fuad bhai’s music direction my album ‘Chapter-2’ became superhit. That is why he is doing the third album. I am interested to work with all talented music directors of new generation.

When will third album ‘Re/define’ will come to market?

The album work is at last stages. The company has been finalized. The album will come soon.

Many believe that Mila will not last long. What’s your opinion?

I did not come with sudden wave that I will go back with it. I started my journey from main roots of music. Since I came this far with singing, I can go long way ahead. But there are ups and downs in career. Somebody will come who is better than me. I am working with honesty. If Allah is not angry at me then no one can harm me.

Recently you have become model for Britol biscuit. How does it feel as a model?

In this commercial my ‘Rupoban’ song was used. Public liked this song. As a result people also liked the commercial. I think viewers liked me as a model.

How are you enjoying time after becoming popular?

I am like old times. Like old times I go to footpaths to eat chotpoti. I come out of house with dress that was on inside. Hang out with friends. Do not bother if someone recognizes me or not. I have two lives. One is personal and other professional. I never mix these two up.

With piles of doubts in head on 13th February acclaimed actor-director Giasuddin Salim’s first film ‘Monpura’ was released. As this film was made with small screen actors many movie specialists thought it wouldn’t be able to attract audience. But that opinion was crushed on the first week of movie’s release.

Salim’s creative style, Bangla romantic story and strong organizational work after release got ‘Monpura’ to cross over last 25 years of movie success history. It’s been 100 days since Monpura’s continuous success countrywide from day one of its release. So naturally its creator will be happy about all this.

How do you feel about exactly 100 days of success? Salim says, of course I am happy. There is no reason to be sad. But it is true that there is a lot of pressure, day after day hall owners from distant corners of country come asking for Monpura.

I have to discuss with them, have to buy and sell, still giving every effort to prevent piracy, and also slowly getting familiar with this new world called film. I am learning a lot, because drama was a really known place like my family.

And movie means all of Bangladesh. As in I am going across one Bangladesh with Monpura. It is a really hard work that cannot be expressed with words. And about the feeling of completing 100 days I would say this much, when I started making the film since then I had a plan and dream that country’s hall averse people would again come back to halls together.

Perhaps everybody dreams of this, especially the ones who made or are making new movies. I got to grasp dream in last 100 days. I believe that Monpura will pursue more 500 cinema halls of the country in next 200 days. It has only been 200 halls.

It is not a dream, I can clearly see it. In the meantime besides planning for Monpura’s 200 days Giazuddin Salim started to work on a new movie. After unexpected sky high success of first movie Salim’s plans regarding new movie are shaping into unimaginable form. It has been said that possible name of the movie is ‘Kajol Rekha’.

On the matter Salim informed, the story of the movie is complete. But before finalizing its name and actors, he completely refused to open his mouth about it. After Monpura with whom and what kind of movie will this creator make- to satisfy the mass curiosity about this in media and viewers some possible information has been given.

He said, with the new movie we want to go back to a moment thousand years back. For this along with scripting lots of research and meetings have been done about its location, set design, clothes and filming. We are looking for new faces as actor and actress for this movie. There is a good possibility that Prova will be in heroine’s role.

Although he could not give full guarantee about Prova Salim said, in this movie Humayun Faridi is coming in a special character. Moreover Chanchal-Mili will also be present. But in the movie this couple will appear more like guest roles. With loads of confidence from first movie this creator is going ahead with an unimaginable arrangement for his second movie; the shooting of which will start from the beginning of next year.

In her 5 year career 10 albums got released. She also sang in plays and movies. She sang to Bappi Lahiri’s tuned and composed Hindi song. In the end her 10th album was released called “Moner Na Bola Kotha” in Ayub Bacchu’s tune and composition.

Five years ago her journey started with album “Moner Chotto Ghore”

Tenth album “Moner Na Bola Kotha” got released. What is the experience this time?

It feels really good. I am continuously learning, trying to perfect classical. I started my journey with music director Mannan Mohammad. Gradually I earned the experience of working with Rajesh, S. I. Tutul , Ayub Bacchu. In between I sang to the tune of renowned music director of subcontinent Bappi Lahiri. Working with different music director I got the opportunity to learn a lot.

Tell us something about “Moner Na Bola Kotha” in Ayub Bacchu’s tune and music.

Every song of this album really matches with the title. Whatever I could not say or do in previous nine albums, it was possible here. Ten songs are of ten different touches. It is a matter of luck to sing to Ayub Bacchu’s tune and music. I am his fan since childhood. Working on my album was a challenge for Bacchi Bhai. He created something new selflessly. In this album fans of every type of music will find a new Eva.

Which song of the album you liked most?

In this album Bacchu Bhai gave an amazing tune. With soft background music he composed a song titled ‘Bangladesh’. The lyric of the song is ‘মাগো যুগে যুগে এই মাটির বুকে কতো রাত জেগে হয় ভোর’. The song was added in the end of documentary on Freedom Fighting directed by ATN Bangla’s Chairman. The strange thing is, the war took place in 1971. In spite of that the song blended really well with documentary in 2009.

When you started five years ago, did you think back then that tenth album will come out?

At the beginning I had no confidence. I started learning to sing since I was 5/6 years old. Did not have practice for long time. After marriage inspired by my husband ATN Chairman Dr. Mahfujur Rahman I started again; had to digest many criticisms on this. Then I took up a challenge inside. Slowly started to build myself up. The more people criticize the more I express my confidence. Now many praise my singing.

Most of the critics raise questions about your singing talent. How confident are you about yourself?

Only because I have talent it’s slowly getting expressed. If it was possible to be an artist or sing without talent then every channel owners’ wives would become artists. Since the very start severe criticisms about me have been taking place. If they listen to my tenth album then all of their criticisms will stop. I did not become an artist out of hobby. And I do not want to be an artist by competing. I sing for self satisfaction.

What sort of criticisms do you hear more?

Strange criticisms have been done about me. Why I sing with saree on, why I am not wearing modern dresses, why my songs are not telecasted in any channel except ATN, etc. Perhaps the critics do not that everything is done according to my liking.

But they do show you more in ATN.

But now you can see me less. In fact every artist’s channel is ATN. If they show me a lot then I call up and shut the transmission.

Out of ten albums in which album you were satisfied singing?

To be honest full pleasure does not come from any album. It feels like a mistake remained.

Your album “Ishq Diwana” with Bappi Lahiri’s tune and music became popular. You even sang with him on same stage. What is your feeling?

Most probably Allah is really pleased with me. I got many things without even asking. He is a human being of big quality. I was not able to sing infront of him. During recoding in Kolkata he gave me strength by saying, just imagine that everyone is family member, you are singing in the drawing room. Then I started singing comfortably.

In a year two of your solo albums come out. Is there a reason behind it?

My albums come out centered around two eids. With songs of my solo album one hour program is telecasted in two eids. The sponsor money for this program was raised to maximum of 55 lakh. And my fans look forward to these programs in two eids.

What are the albums coming out ahead?

A solo album is getting worked on with Rajesh’s tune. Moreover in Ayub Bacchu’s tune two more solo albums will come. Bacchu Bhai is taking time and working on something different.

Who do you listen to in Bangladesh?

Songs of Runa Laila, Sabina Yasmin and Samina Chowdhury are always played at my home. Sabina apa has such a voice that it does not require music. Besides that I listen to Shubir Nandi, Andrew Kishor and Lucky Akhondo.

A lot of change can be heard in your voice now. How is it possible?

This change first comes in Rajesh’s tune. Then more change comes in tunes S. I. Tutul and Ayub Bacchu. Besides I am learning something new from Ostaad Shamsul Huda. So fans will get some more improvements.

For every album you have a music video. Are you doing this by plan?

Every solo album of mine has DVD. The work on DVD is done according to my plans. Like Moner Kotha Na Bola, Ishq Diwana, Moner Tulite Aki, Montori, all these DVDs were under my plan. I enjoy doing this work.

Are you doing anything else besides singing?

I am working as a producer in ATN Bangla. I direct programs on special days. I produced a play called “Halkhata” on Boishakh. A series program on Kazi Nazrul is run on ATN. I am enjoying these works.

-Just studying, my final exam is knocking at the door. That’s why I am only acting in plays not in films. After my exam is over I will work in plenty of plays.

-I am very much emotional, truthful and can mingle well with everyone. My negative side is that, I am bitter and get angry easily.

Who inspired you to come to media?

-It was my own interest.

Tell us about a character which touched your heart?

-In my early childhood I would watch Humayon Ahmed’d Kothao Keo Nei. In that play Baker Bhai’s character is still in my heart.

How much did you get for your first acting?

-In 1996 I received three hundred thousand taka for being the second runner up in channel eye superstar contest.

If you were granted a wish, what would you wish for?

-I want to establish a dental hospital after I pass out. There poor patients would be treated for free.

Have you ever fallen in love?

-Yes, but I can’t tell his name.

What type of husband would you like?

-My husband has to be handsome and smart, always a good person who will understand me.

What is your future plan?

-After becoming a dentist, at first I want to give free treatment to the poor. I also want to be a good actress.

Say something for your fans.

-My fans are very good fans. I thank them for remembering me for my hard work. Please pray for me so that I can become a good dentist and a successful actress.

Thanks from Tarokalok team.

-Thanks to you too.

Fatema Binte Rhaman: Those who were LUX superstars before, most of them had a particular trend or style to carry off themselves. But nowadays we are amazed to see one or two of the superstars.

One advertisement particularly grabs the attention. I am talking about a recent advertisement of Badhon.

In my view, after being a LUX superstar, you need to be within a particular fashion trend acceptable to all. Initially I was in favor of Badhon so that she becomes LUX superstar, but why she did not become superstar was apparent later on. She was caught in theft in Bangkok, as well as she had an illicit relationship with one of the Channel staff- all these news being published about her made me wonder about her integrity. How can aperson lose her image so well in such a small time? The same proof I got from one of her advertisements. Director Farooki probably wanted a total commercial advertisement. But because of this, should a LUX star work for a debilitating advertisement in exchange for money?

At the same time, I will say that only for the sales of your newspaper, do not let go of your paper’s integrity. Do not try to say a debilitating advert as good. All these time, Mostafa Sarwar Farooki produced many such dramas like ‘Baba bole gelo’ and ‘First Date’. All these have put his other good work’s reputation in jeopardy. It is difficult to accept a star’s reputation on the line in everyday life.

I have a question for Badhon. Where will you develop your career at? Do you want to get down while hosting a show? Or do you want to come in the newspapers for all the wrong reasons like getting cut off from a Cinema.

We used to be insired by the works of LUX superstars. They have an image to hold up. But you? And because of people like you now I myself have to think twice before enrolling for such a competition. Just for your behavior, not everyone should be put to shame. You do not have that right. I have to ask you – Ask yourself why you did this and whether you want to be a controversial model and do controversial works. Why don’t you try for good scripts, then we will be inspired too. You will also promote LUX itself.

Going abroad with husband and leaving acting after marriage, if she acts not in outdoors and even not working with Shakib Khan, all these different decisions taken in different times by beautiful actress Purnima are completely changed. However she did not just sit around by changing decisions, she started to work full time.

And that also with Shakib Khan. With Shohanur Rahman Shohan directed ‘Ei Mon Chai Tomake’ Shakib-Purnima started their new journey. Before this through reporter-director Mushfiquer Rahman Gulzar directed ‘I love you’ both Shakib and Purnima passed through storm.

Purnima told her close ones that, I never took decisions of leaving the country or not working with Shakib Khan. A notorious group, other actress and few agents spread these rumors in order to gain from it. Although nothing happened in Pubail, that group acted excessively.

Even rumors like me buying flat in Gulshan after marriage, going to America were spread by them to keep me away from film. To prove that their efforts failed I started to work again. I believe that film industry will not be deluded anymore by bad people. Purnima let her other half know that she will be working regularly and there is no possibility of her settling abroad.

Tanvin Sweety is in a dilemma about the present states of dramas aired. She said that nowadays a lot of young generation producers are created dramas and this is a good side of the drama world.

But they are also creating dramas in high frequency. Since they are trying to make these dramas within a short time, the overall quality of drama is reducing.

Sweety said that this is affecting their careers on one hand and on the other hand, it is also the new artists are not able to start off their career nicely. Fearing the degradation of dramas, she said that if this keeps on going, the quality of our dramas will go very low. Sweety said that she is currently working for Abu Saidi’s ‘Pashapashi’ drama mega serial.

Tonmoy Tansen is making a drama Batasher Ghor – Sweety is also starring there. Mijanur Rahman Labu’s ‘ Bari Bari Sari Sari’ and Safayet Rana’s ‘Jolkonna’ are two other serials whose shooting is curently going on. Onimesh Aich’s ‘Dhakka’ is another drama whose work she has already finished. Regarding the work of the newcomers in drama world, she said- the new artists are doing a great job but the new producers are unable to fully utilize their talents.

The quality of the dramas are going down as they are trying to do more work everyday. Sweety is presently busy with family and her production house ‘Shonkonil’.

Popular Mumbai singer-presenter Shaan came to Bangladesh for the second time on Friday. Yesterday evening he over whelmed Dhaka’s song lovers at Dhaka China Friendship Conference Center. And previously on Friday he recorded two songs for two movies, one of Shohanur Rahman Shohan and other of Debashish. The summary of long chat with this Bangla spoken popular person has been presented here.

What is your feeling about Dhaka-Bangladesh?

In one sentence I feel good. I guess being a Bengali and speaking Bangla wholeheartedly is of highest state. Foreign or abroad there is not much opportunity to speak in Bangla like this. And speaking of Bangladesh I would say, I have been hearing about this country since childhood through my parents.

In Jessore my grandfather was an accountant of a land owner of that time. So family relationship with Jessore was for long time. Considering all these you can understand my feelings towards Bangladesh.

This is probably your second tour.

Yes, but I came here 5/6 years ago on personal invitation from BMW. In that way this is my first public tour. I can say that this is my first official tour of Bangladesh.

This time one of the top five from ‘Sa Re Ga Ma’ Manisha is with you.

Yes Manisha did come. She also sings amazingly. But with me my band members came. They are with me for 7/8 years. I kept the name of the band ‘The Groove’.

You said you have lots of family related feelings with Bangladesh. How is your idea about Bangladeshi music?

It is not supposed to be good. Because for last few years I only sang. Did not get the opportunity to listen at all. But that does not mean I know nothing about Bangladeshi music. For example I listened to lots of Bangladeshi folk music in both Hindi and Bangla. Besides your James, who sang in Hindi made quite a spark there. And before that I heard and listened to Runa Laila, Momtaz and Miles as a band.

Along with stage show you also sang playback for two movies to Shaokot Ali Emon’s tune.

I did. All of a sudden. Probably this is not the first time. Quite long time back I probably sang for one movie here, but cannot properly remember.

The difference between Mumbai playback and Bangladesh playback must be vast

No, I would not really say that. And it does not require to be said. But I felt good singing these two songs.

Can you remember of one or two popular Bangladeshi songs?

I even forget my own songs. You will notice it when I get up on stage. In the middle of my many songs I get by doing ‘La la la’. But I still remember 2-3 Bangladeshi songs well. Even the tune. Like ‘Bondhu tin din tor barit gelam’, ‘Dam Dam Mast Kalandar’, ‘Shadher Lau’ etc. I think all of them are by Runa Laila. Why not, I think of her as ambassador of Bangladesh.

Dhaka to Kolkata. What differences do you see?

Bangla is over there and also here. There is not much difference. However as far as I heard biriyani is tasty and sharee is beautiful over here.

As a Bengali you are ruling Mumbai. At the moment you are playback number one. With this you have the spark of a presenter. What do you say?

Actually there is nothing to say. You called me number one, I am happy and suppressed it. But the problem is in this era there is no such thing as number one, number two. It is not a big deal because becoming popular or number one is a matter of short time. Now there is a lack of good songs. And I have been presenting for last seven years. But I decided not to host a reality show anymore.

Why?

I have many regrets about this; because for some reason everything else is happening but I am not finding a perfect artist. I have promised people so much every year but see so far not a single artist could do much. In exchange of this people are entertained and we are buying houses and cars, that is it. Hence I do not find any reason to work for such a meaningless job.

Then are you against reality shows?

No, I would not say that. But sky high promises should not be given through these shows.

You also act.

I don’t. I have acted in one movie in my entire life. So while doing it I took my girlfriend to the spot. After returning from there she told me, I have only one demand from you, do not act anymore. Because I want to keep my head high in society. Instead continue with your music. I was quite shock to hear that. That means nothing is right about my acting. Since then that chapter is closed.

In the end are you going to say anything towards Bangladesh as in Dhaka?

I love Bangladesh. I want to come here again and again given an opportunity. Among the crowd of Hindi-English I want to have long chats in Bangla again and again. That’s all I hope for.

Hero scarcity is going on in Dhaka movie. Heroine shortage is not less critical. The whole industry is now hostage to one hero. The film art is run depending on his will and wants. If a movie is hit he raises his wage. Although movie makers have suppressed grudge about this but none of them are willing to say anything in fear of not getting a schedule.

At the moment among film associates actor Shakib Khan is in control of whole industry. And the only reason behind this is there are no strong competitors. As a result shortage of actors/heroes is felt intensely in Dhaliwood. On one side it’s actor shortage and on other side shortage of actresses in this industry is not less. Roles of heroines are revolving around Shabnur, Apu Bishwas.

However in heroine race Apu Bishwas is coming ahead. According to film maker’s source Shakib Khan always prefers her. Hero and heroine scarcity became critical after death of Manna and sudden announcement by Moushumi of not doing movies anymore. Then whole industry started to depend on Shakib-Apu pair.

On the other hand when Purnima initially announced that she would not do movies anymore after complications in marriage movie makers faced heroine scarcity. Although later Purnima and Moushumi started to act in movies again, actress scarcity did not go away. Right now after Apu, Shabnur, Purnima, Poppy the movie industry has work with Nipun, Ressy, Romana, Sahara.

According to a source, right now viewers’ demand for Poppy, Riaz, Ferdous has declined. Although at times Riaz tries to rise up with a spark. But still makers remain tensed about him. Nevertheless his ‘Mon Boshena Porar Table-e’ is doing good business. ‘Ebadot’ is coming ahead. After the release of this movie Riaz’s position can be assessed.

On the other side movies of Amin Khan, Alek, Amit Hasan are not doing well. Producers informed that booking agents are not interested in these actors’ movies. However as viewers accepted Kazi Maroof acted ‘Goriber Chele Boroloker Meye’ well, makers have newly started considering him.

At the moment few heroes and heroines are working in Dhaliwood which is low compared to demand. Whereas 70 to 100 movies are made in a year producers are finding it hard to make movies with them. But positive thing is that new faces are coming into industry. Two popular Banglalink models Emon and Nirob registered their name in movie industry.

From TV media Romana, Ressy, Badhon, Mim, Chanchal Chowdhury, Mili have started to work in films. Emon’s ‘Ek Buk Bhalobasha’ got released though it did not click. Still he has many movies in hand. Renowned directors are working with him. Delowar Hossain Jhantu, P.A. Kajol, Shahin Shumon and other directors are working with him.

Film makers think that when movie ‘Piritir Dokan’ gets released his and Bindu’s possibilities will shine more. Even in past Dhaliwood faced hero-heroine scarcity. But producers and directors took steps to overcome that. Actor Raj Razzak brought his son Samrat into film. Samrat caught the eye of audience in ‘Ami Bachte Chai’, ‘Koti Takar Fokir’ movies.

Right now shooting of a new movie called ‘Mon Diyechi Tomake’ started. In the meantime actor raj Razzak’s elder son announced his return to the film. He has three movies in hand. Shooting of these movies are almost done. And recently jail freed popular villain Dipjol announced he will start producing movies again.

The specialty of his movies is Dipjol centric roles. The movie will be made revolving around him. Hero-heroine are merely part of the movie. Number one hero of recent times Shakib Khan and busy actress Apu Bishwas became popular by acting in his movie. Movie ‘Koti Takar Kabin’ is the turning point of Shakib and Apu Bishwas in film industry.

After back to back Dipjol produced hit movies ‘Pita Matar Ashon’, ‘Chacchu’, Shakib Khan was considered as hit by creators. After that they did not have to look back. Industry went ahead depending on them, which deepened the scarcity of heroes and heroines even further. Creators cannot work with just one actor or actress for the whole year.

Film makers think that new faces like Emon, Romana, Nirob, Bindu can turn things around then hero-heroine shortage may lessen. To overcome this crisis eye is kept upon FDC-NTV co-organized ‘Super Hero Super Heroine’ show. It is thought that if new actors and actresses come from here then along with hero shortage heroine scarcity will also go away.

In their opinion, late actor Manna was created through FDC’s new face search. Many actors and actresses including Amin Khan, Diti came through new face (Notun Mukh). About actor shortage director Chashi Nazrul Islam said, there is only one way of overcoming, which is producers and directors have to step up.

New faces have to be given breaks. Roles have to be fulfilled in creating new artists. General Secretary of Film Directors Committee Shah Alam Kiran said, industry cannot run just depending on one actor and actress. That is why film associates have to take initiatives to overcome this crisis. We are waiting to see who comes from ‘Super Hero Super Heroine’.

Director Sohanur Rahman Sohan said, actor shortage in industry is severe. It is not possible for Shakib alone to handle this crisis. If new boys and girls come then this crisis will fade away.

Sunday was the Father’s day. Banglavision invited two top celebrities- Ferdous Wahid and Habib (his son) to the show Amar Ami. Munmun is the host of the show. Ferdous Wahid was talking about it.

Which topic was the prime topic of your discussions today?

Definitely the relationship between father and son. Previously the dads used to stay away from their sons, but now the situation is different. Now they can discuss about anything freely. Because of this a complicated task can be completed very easily

Since both of you are singers, you must have sung some songs too?

I sung Habib’s song in the show. Habib sand with me too. At our times we had all acousic musical instruments. And now its era of digital music. We have talked about the pros and cons of it. If you have noticed this, previously out of ten singers, almost 8 were around for a long time, but now it is hard to find even one or two.

When did you sing your popular song ‘Mamunia’?

The song is almost 35 years old. The song is still popular now as it was then. I really wanted to sing a song for the kids, Mohammad Nurul Huda was a magistrate then, he agreed to write a song like this. Mamunia is a word that was added by me. Lucky Akhand gaev the music. It took us only three days to make the song.

What about the song ‘Emon ekti ma de na’?

The song is about the same age, just six months different. We wanted to do something different from the mother songs back then. Dr. Nasir Ahmed Opu wrote the song keeping it in mind. His only request was that the song should sound modern. But here the term ‘ma’ denoted the country.

It has not been even one year since popular small screen model Nirob stepped into film. But already he is victimized by film politics. Recent two incidents involving Nirob made it very clear that rise of this small part of film, Nirob, is not easily accepted in film industry. After scrutinizing two incidents film experts gave this opinion.

First incident is related with Shahin Shumon directed ‘Mon Jekhane Ridoy’. Recently audio-video of this film got released. At the same time in filmtown Kakrail posters have been laid out. In both audio-video cover and poster Nirob is overlooked. No picture of Nirob is given on CD cover.

In posters also his picture is absent. Whoever saw audio-video cover and poster of ‘Mon Jekhane Ridoy’ were surprised not to see Nirob there. Despite having casting value questions are raised by film related people on why Nirob did not get space on CD covers and posters. Some are claiming it is a part of conspiracy against Nirob.

On the other hand Nirob was deceived by controversial Popy Films. After getting Nirob contracted by signing money he was illogically excluded from the movie created by aforesaid banner. Maruf was taken instead of him. Apparently it was said by production organization that they were thinking of casting him.

In the end they did not. It came to knowledge that Nirob was given signing money by the organization. They even booked schedule from 25th June to 5th July. Nirob acknowledged these statements. He said, all of a sudden an official of Popy Films told me, because of producers’ ‘Mayer Mrittu’ shooting had been cancelled for the time being.

Sonia is one of the successful stars of 2005 Close Up One competition. Recently she came back from Europe-America tour.

In 2005 after the end of Close Up One two solo albums of yours came out ‘Nithur Bashi’ and ‘Bhebe Nebo’. What is the news about the albums?

Audience liked both of my albums. As audience liked it so songs like ‘Nithur Bashi’, ‘Bazare Bazare Dhol Aar Dhaak/Elore Pohela Boishakh’, ‘Shara Banglai Khuji Tomar’ from the album ‘Nithur Bashir’ and from album ‘Bhebe Nebo’ songs like ‘Taar Lagi Mon Purey Jai’, ‘Diwana’, ‘Jaa Mon Pakhi Ure Ja’ became superhit. All in all two albums are of two types. ‘Nithur Bashi’ is commercial folk and ‘Bhebe Nebo’ is suitable for current time. In two albums ‘Nithur Bashir’ in the tune of Shaokot Ali Imon and ‘Bhebe Nebo’ in the tune Hridoy Khan audience found an independent Sonia.

You came 4th in 2005 close up one competition. This type of singing competitions is taking place almost in every channel. What do you think about the necessity of so many competitions?

First of all, the aim of these competitions is to promote Bangla music. To revive songs from old days. After Close Up One interest of learning music among new generation increased. Youths are not practicing more of Bangla songs. But this also has to be said that this type of contests are nothing by commercial concepts. As a result channels are competing to organize contests. But it has to be remembered that no contest can give birth to an artist. No competition can create artists like Runa Laila or Sabina Yasmin. Artists are born. It would have been better if Close Up One competition is organized once in 5-10 years. If you just notice that except Salma all other artists came through 2005 Close Up One competition. After that no singer came up through any other show.

After Close Up One competition you have been singing independently. Why are you doing this?

I am forever in debt to Close Up One. In last 4 years the way I went ahead would not have been possible without Close Up One. After coming out of Close Up I took some independent steps. I did not want to remain within any constraints. I always wanted to be present among audience. That is why I have been able to strengthen my position. I do not know if anyone from Close Up done that.

How satisfied are you with your position?

I am really happy with my position. That is why right now I am able to think where I will be in 20 years. I want to be a legend in Bangladesh. Within entity of an artist I want to be unique person.

As an artist of this generation how aware are you about the social responsibilities?

I am an idol. This is nothing but a blessing of Allah. That day I went to Dhaka Cambrian College. All the girls came rushing at the sight of me. They really noticed what sort of clothes I wear, how I walk, how I talk and so on. My favorite color is red. When I went to do show in Las Vegas I saw that curtains, bedsheets as in everything is red in houses of Bangla community. I was amazed. They have been decorating their houses for one month because of my arrival. I understood that artists carry social responsibilities. Compared to an ordinary person a celebrity affects the society much more. That is why a successful artist needs to be serious about social responsibilities.

At this phase of the career how serious are you about your stage and album?

Demands for me on stage are increasing day by day. That is why I am very serious about stage. On the other hand I am not in favor of bringing out albums every year. I want to arrange properly and gift audience a beautiful new solo album. I have started to work on that album. Unless I am satisfied this album is not coming to the market.

Many think that you don’t have original songs. What is your opinion on this issue?

A number of my original songs have been released. Like ‘Shara Bangla’, ‘Moner-e Taney’, ‘Bondhu Premer-e Taney’, ‘Khuji Tomare’, ‘Shukh Amaar Shoilona’, these songs are always popular on stage with audience.

What is your opinion about present day’s changed music?

Whenever an old song is remade it is always a hit. That is why I say old songs will always live. The change that is taking place now is accepted more by urban audience. But I have one question, what is in the changed music? I always think about with what songs audience is accepting me.

Channel I is airing the drama Chobbish Ghonta. Arnnya Anwar produced and directed the drama. Shanarai Debi Shanu – the LUX channel I superstar talks about this drama:

Tell us about your role in Chobbish Ghonta

In this drama, I have my husband (Towkir Ahmed) and my child (Nirjon). The character of my husband is basically a betrayer. He told me he works a very good job but it is a lie. He actually goes around loving girls and in this way takes money from them. This is how our family goes on.

Are you working somewhere else?

Kaesar Ahmed’s Johur Alu Johru, Salauddin Labhlu’s Annondodham, Al Monsur Aladin’s Cherag, Shafikul Islam’s Chayaghat are my current projects. All these are serials. ETV’s Durer Manush and Channel I’s Sarisuri are two serials that are airing now.

LUX superstars who are your age are working for the big screens, why not you?

When I was nominated as LUX superstars, then I got an offer from Impress Telefilm. But since I am not into the scripts like that, my enrollment into cinema was not there. But I am very much interested to do so if possible. If everything is well, I will definitely do so.

I heard you are the editor of a lifestyle magazine. Hwo did you come to being an editor?

It was by chance. The people of the magazine came to me and asked me whether I will be working for a magazine which portrays fashion and glamour. I was curious and interested so I said yes.

Jotika Joti, a very promising actress, was talking about her future plan to get into commercial films.

Which of your dramas are airing now in the channels?

At present five dramas are airing in different channels. In Banglavision, Alvi Ahmed’s The Family and Mohan Khan’s Shomudro Jol. In ETV, Nurul Alam’s Atiker School, in Desh TV Abdullah Rna’s Kuashar Ondhokar and in ATN Bangla the drama Box.

What is your character in the drama Box? What response are you getting from audience?

In this serial, I am an NGO worker. I have different types of experiences while working for this drama. The character is excellent. I have learnt a lot while working for it and also getting a good response. I am really happy that I can work for it.

Which dramas are awaiting release?

Nuruul Alam Atik’s Ekti Kinley Ekti Free, Dipankar Deep’s Mayer Doya Poribohon, Noresh Bhuiyan’s Nij Shokhigon, Debashish Bor’s – Ja diper bhabi and MBBS.

You had acted in movies. Do you have any future thoughts on acting for silver screen?

I had acted in Tanvir Mokammel’s Rabeya and Onimesh Aich’s Shefali movie. I have a wish of acting in full commercial movies. I want to work for good movies. I do not want to work in such movies which are written about and applauded but the audience do not go to see them. I want to work in such movies where the audience will go to the movies to watch it, to experience it and also applaud for me.

Which talented producers have you worked with so far? Who do you like working with?

I have had the pleasure of working with a lot of talented producers but amongst them Animash Aich, Nurul Alam Atik, Morshedul Islam, Dipankar Dipon, Tanvir Mokammel and Akram bhai were the ones I loved working with. They have an edge over others in the way they work.

What is the competition in your profession?

There is plenty of competition in our profession and I get a way of measuring my ability through it all. Those who have quality are the ones who will survive in the end. Without being njealous it is best if they do their own works. If you have the quality then obviously you are going to get work.

Tell us about your new works?

Tarek Anam Khan’s Surjomukhi is one serial which I am working on now as well as Sadek Siddiky’s Shobai Toh Khushi Hotey Chae. Apart from this I am still in negotiation about some new works.

His brilliant acting belies his experience, which begins with a military career in 1982, stops as a journalist with the Daily New Nation from 1993, the Daily Star from 1995 and the BBC World Service from 2004, and his present role as a television actor. The impulsive nature that guided him through this path serves him well as an actor. He is also a spirited singer and works on the soundtracks of his films.

Monpura is one of the most successful films in country’s history. Director Giazuddin Salim chose Farhana Mili as leading actress. He hit the jackpot with her debut movie. She did not even think that she would be so successful. Presently she is shooting in the drama directed by Tarik Anam.

Written by Aminul Islam created for BTV this is a public awareness play. Before this she acted in the lead role in play based on short story ‘Bubu’ written by Akhtaruzzaman Ilias Ramiz. She has some more plays in her hand. But she is not doing any new movies at the moment.

Then did Monpura fail to convey the message to commercial film world- replying to question like this Mili said, I do not understand all these but offers for some movies came. As they were not ideal I rejected the offers. Born in Nawabganj Mili grew up among wind and light of old Dhaka’s Nawabpur.

Nobel is the top model in modeling industry of Bangladesh

Starting a career as a model in her teens, Farzana Riya Chowdhury popularly known as Riya eventually became a successful dancer in the country. Riya learnt at the Bulbul Academy of Fine Arts (BAFA) when she was only a child. She took dancing as her career before finishing her HSC. But people saw her first as a model in a TV commercial of Cocola Biscuit Company in the year 1992. Since then she took part in many popular TV commercials.

What is the meaning of life? Every mind will have a different answer. To me the meaning of life is to give joy to others for as long as I live. May be that is where the success of my life lies. At least that is what I think. Being in the film industry I think the meaning of life can be found in films. May be unconsciously I have started to entertain others.

My hometown is in Bagura. From my childhood I was involved in cultural activities. In middle school I would participate in dancing. Although my family was against it, my mom was my inspiration. Today I am Opu Biswash because of her encouragement and help. And of course I had the prayers and love of fans.

In some party I met with the talented actor/director Shuvash Datta. He offered me to act in his film ‘O amar chele’. Before I could finish that movie I got an offer to act in Amzad Hossain’s film ‘Kal shokale’. I did not have a big part in these two films but it helped my career. After that I worked in place of Dipjol in 2006 in ‘Chachu’, Pitar ashon’, Dadima’, ‘Koti takar kabin’. The rest of the story is known to all.

I have not been in the film industry for long but I had to face many problems. Most of it was bitter. Our industry does not welcome the new ones. That was my first experience. I stood on the station from morning to evening in shooting. I was new so I had nowhere to sit. But the others who were not new comers had a sitting arrangement. If this indifference continues then our films cannot improve. Other than this there is jealousy. Competition is good but jealousy is not acceptable. And some of our reporters play along with this. At the beginning of my career some of the artists were conspiring against me. But I survived by the love of my audience. It is true that the true value of an actor depends on his audience. The reporters in electronic and print media all are bias. The reporters are the conscious of the citizens. Why will they be bias? Thus my request to the reporters is that they only bring out the truth to the readers. They are the symbol of honesty.

The present film industry has crossed a dark time and now is waiting for golden days. But still there are not many good directors except few in our country. And the producers and directors only think of the commercial profit which is why we do not find good movies despite our wishes. So the people of the this country have no choice other than to chose bollywood, Hollywood. There is also scarcity of good story writers in our country. During acting I came to see that it’s the same dialogues over and over again. They just wrote a story to earn money. But now the audience does not accept these movies. And the entire fault falls on the producers and directors. This system should change. We have to remember that our audience wants to know more and learn more from our films.

Today all the prices are increasing in a geometric progression except the budget of our producers. I have heard it many times during shooting that a producer is saying ‘could not shoot a good scene due to the short budget’. In school a teacher once told me ‘one can never succeed with loads of tension’. I think that if the mentioned problems are solved then the quality of our films will improve. I have not been here for long but I had the opportunity to work with many super stars. Once upon a time I would dream about them and today I am sometimes their daughter and sometimes daughter in law. I enjoy this very much. Those who once upon a time made great movies have now stepped out, some from agitation and some for negligence. Now is the time to rebuild our films. And that requires the experienced artists. Only they can revive the films of dhalliwood.

During shooting these artists unconsciously express their agitation. Most of them complained ‘as long as I was able to give to them we were valuable. If I am done today no one will look for me tomorrow’. This is only seen in our country. If we look at bollywood we will see that in all the functions the aged, experienced and retired artists are valued the most. The people of the film industry need to have a change of heart.

My only wish is to have a place in the hearts of my audience. Thus I did a commercial with Nobel for the viewers of drawing room. Now people recognize me. This was positive for me. But the producers like Humayon Ahmed, Mostofa Sorowar Faruqui, Tanvir Mokammel, Morshedul Islam and Giasuddin Selim do not work with the artists of FDC. I don’t know the reason for that. But I would say that they should also work with commercial artists like us. Nowadays there are two types of films. Main stream and alternate stream. If the artists of commercial films could work on their films then there would not be this division.

In our media most of the high ranking officials hardly know anything about cinema. It’s the same thing for most of the editors. If this kind of relationship changes I believe our entertainment will definitely improve.

I have made some plans from the beginning of this year. I want to reach a strong point in film and thus the pre- planning. I will try not to make the same mistakes that were once made.

I have many wishes. I had a sky full of dreams when I entered the film industry. These dreams are coming true one by one. I was a simple girl from Bagura and now I am a film actress. So I believe that my sky full of dreams will one day come true.

In first 6 months of this year 7 out of 8 released movies acted by Apu became popular. In last decade no other actress from new generation got popularity like her in Bangla movie. That is why she is in a assured stage in professional life.

Apu Biswas is the actress of most commercial successful movies in last six months. Even two years back there were 4 to 5 actress in the film industry. Although Moushumi reduced acting, Purnima became busier with dramas after marriage. Poppy has fewer movies in her hand. Only Shabnur’s movies do good business once in a while.

After this only Apu Biswas depicts success. Apu said in her natural manner, “actually my professionalism played the biggest part behind my consistency, because I am not aware of messing up any director’s schedule. I don’t think about what others do. What I do is the matter to see. I am busy with keeping my fitness after shooting day and night.”

Opu is now shooting at Cox’s Bazar. Apu will stay outside of Dhaka for one more week to shoot the movie ‘Hakim Nore To Hukum Norena’ directed by F. I. Manik. She will go to Bangkok next month.

During this Eid, she will be seen in around half a dozen movies. She is tensed about release of lots of movies simultaneously. As this tends to push producers into business risk. And Apu does not like this either.

She said, “I am not in support of releasing several movies together, because films do not do business. And blame falls on shoulders of actors-actresses."

Like success of Apu, she also got herself into controversy in different occasions. But still she has no problem leaving all that controversy behind and moving ahead consistently.

Regarding this Apu said, “My success came in short time compared to others. That’s why whenever little fault of mine is found everybody starts condemning me. In coming days viewers will get to see me in better roles. I am waiting for days when my expectations would be fulfilled. I know I can do it. I have to do it.”

For last two years Apu’s ship of success docked in a green island. There is a lot of similarity of her changed life with the girl of green island. Movie experts think that for next two years Apu’s career will go higher.
